Nona C. Blevins, 86, of Aberdeen, MD, passed away December 12, 2020 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD. Born in Vansant, Virginia, on April 7, 1934, Nona was the daughter of the late Otis Cox and Arveline Stacy Cox.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth and his wife Susan of Elgin, SC, Kevin and his wife Linda of Street, and Keith Blevins of Aberdeen; daughters Karen Lopes and her husband John of Aberdeen and Kimberly Mullins and her husband David of Aberdeen; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Barbara (Sis) Skeens of Tazewell, VA, Geraldine Kinder of Front Royal, Virginia, and by brothers Virgil Cox of Rome, Georgia, and Bobby Cox of Vansant, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruby Remines and a grandson, Brian Burkins, a sister, Lena Farley, and a stillborn sister, Elizabeth Cox, and brothers Tivis Cox and James Cox.
A private service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 am on December 16 , 2020 at Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, 333 S Parke St. Aberdeen, MD. Internment will be at Harford Memorial Gardens, 3839 Aldino Road, Aberdeen, MD 21001.
Nona loved her children and her grandchildren. When they came to visit, there was always some sweet treat waiting for them. She loved watching the Weather Channel, the Masked Singer, and old Westerns as well as reading Zane Grey books. She loved to go to dances with her friend Violet, and bowled on a league where she won many trophies.
