JoAnn M. Jay, 76, of Shuman Road, Everett, PA; passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. She was born on August 26, 1939 in Clearville, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late John Russell and Vera (McCune) Beegle. On November 10, 1972 in Cumberland, MD; she married Richard L. Jay. She was preceded in death by first husband Oscar Weicht.
Along with her husband Richard she is survived by children: Ellis Weicht, South Carolina; Adam Weicht, South Carolina; Martha married to Dave Wentz, Hopewell; Bernice married to Kevin Barkman, Clearville; Mary married to Jaimie Bulger, Everett; Eunice Weicht, Cle Elum, WA, Kimberly married to John Price, Everett and Kelly married to Travis Hayes; thirteen grandchildren and one expected; fifteen great grandchildren and two expected.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons: Levi Weicht and Luke Weicht; and siblings: Betty Mills, Wanda VonStein, Arvilla Wine, Florence Krause, Viola McDonald, Irene Mills, John Beegle, Lloyd Beegle and Calvin Beegle.
JoAnn was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Jay was a member of Pleasant Union Church.
She was employed at Everett Foodliner for fourteen years until her retirement.
JoAnn enjoyed doing word find puzzles’ and working in her flower gardens. She enjoyed cooking; canning was the best homemade bread maker.
Burial will be held at Pleasant Union Cemetery.
