Floyd L. Bright Jr., 96, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tarrant County Alzheimer's Association , 2630 West Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas 76102. Floyd was born Feb. 6, 1918, in Preston, Okla., to Floyd and Wynona Bright. He retired from WBAP/KXAS TV where he was a newsman. He covered many local and national events, including hurricanes, tornadoes, John F. Kennedy's visit to Fort Worth and Dallas, stock shows and many other events. Floyd also was a photographer who took pictures for Sports Illustrated, Look, Life and Time magazines prior to working for WBAP. He also designed and built several innovative motion picture cameras and power supplies that were used and copied nationally. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; a grandson, Colter Bright; and two sisters. Survivors: Sons, Phil Bright and wife, Wilda, and Mike Bright; granddaughter, Lauren Bright; and grandson, Sam Bright. Published in Star-Telegram on Dec. 29, 2013
