REDFIELD—Evelyn A. Berndt, 96, died Monday, July 1, 1985, at James Valley Nursing Home in Redfield.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 5, at the Presbyterian Church of Mansfield with the Rev. Sunandkumar Samuel officiating.
Burial will be in the Northville Cemetery under the direction of Coleman—Thelen Funeral Chapel in Redfield.
Evelyn Berndt was born April 15, 1889, at Gallup. She married William Berndt March 15, 1910, at Aberdeen. She lived in the Mansfield-Northville area and was postmistress at Mansfield 38 years. The family moved to Redfield in 1963.
She was a charter member of the Mansfield Presbyterian Church, a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, was a member of Northville Senior Citizens, the Mary—Martha Circle and the VFW Auxiliary and Rebecca Lodge, both of Warner. She entered the nursing home in 1981.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Bacon, and Mrs. Jeanette Olds, both of Northville; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1963.
