Mary Alice Abrams Burkhead, 77, died Saturday, May 25, 1996 at her residence. She was a Spencer County native and the daughter of the late Albert and Mattie Perry Abrams. She was former co-owner of J. R. Burkhead & Sons Custom Cherry Furniture in Harrodsburg, a member of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church where she served as secretary of the Ladies Sunday School Class, and a member of the Anderson county Senior Citizens. Survivors include: her husband, Riley Burkhead, Anderson County; two sons, Norris E. Burkhead, Anderson county, Houston Burkhead, Mt. Eden; one brother, Collis Abrams, Junction City; two sisters, Ann Bowman, Louisville and Ruby Murphy, Shelbyville; five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, J. B., Henry C., and John Abrams. Funeral services were held Monday, May 27, at the Pleasant Hill Christian Church with Bro. Jerry Perry and Bro. Terry True officiating. Burial was in the Best Cemetery.
