Carol Marie Sturgill Cornette, age 81 of High Point, formerly of Ashe, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020 at High Point Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Cornette was born December 28, 1938 in Ashe County to the late Denver and Beulah Worley Sturgill.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Franklin Cornette.
Carol was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was well known for her wonderful cooking, she also loved gardening, being outside and watching birds.
Mrs. Cornette was a member of Beaver Creek Christian Church and Green St. Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 14, 2020 at Beaver Creek Christian Church by Minister Loren Lung and Rev. Daniel Pittman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Cornette is survived by, daughters, Debra Ivery and husband Jeff of Thomasville and Bonita Page of High Point, son, Greg Cornette and wife Karen of TN, brother, Gary Sturgill of Boone, grandchildren, Natasha Pittman and husband Daniel, Travis Cornette and wife Emily, Jessica Page, Brenna Knight, Keyton Ivery and Ridge Ivery. 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
