Graveside services are scheduled for Martha Jeanne Laumen Surles at Palestine City Cemetery. She was born to Laura and Joe Laumen. She was a graduate of Palestine High School, Texas Woman's University and Stephen F. Austin University.
Martha was married to Clint Surles for 65 years.
She is survived by Chris and Leas Surles of Dilly and Susan and Randy Osborne of Eustace. She had two grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
The Palestine native was active in the Anderson County Historical Society, the Palestine Library, Harvey Women's Club and numerous organizations for the love of Palestine, Texas.. Martha's love of teachings and helping students with special needs gave her great joy.
