Oma Gladys Luallen was born November 1, 1919, near Vanzant, MO, to William and Emma Freeman. She departed this life on December 9th, 2020 at the home of Carol and Walter Harris in Seymour, MO, at the age of 101.
On March 16, 1941, Oma and Loren Luallen were united in marriage. They were married 55 years before Loren’s passing, and were blessed with six children.
Oma lived in the Topaz area all her married life. After Loren’s passing, she moved to Mountain Grove, MO, where she spent an additional twenty years. She was a member of the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church and an active and well loved member of the community.
Oma was a loving wife and mother, she enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. She was always willing to help others in any way she could. If you were at her house at mealtime there was always a place for you at the table. She commented many times that she had a good long life but was ready to go to heaven and be with Jesus.
Oma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren; two brothers, Walter and Don Freeman; two sisters, Mary Collins and Nancy Tetrick and two grandchildren, Kim Luallen and Clint Harris. She is survived by two brothers, Lloyd Freeman of Ozark MO and Leonard (Madge) Freeman, Mountain Grove, MO; her children, Ethel Elliott (Carl) of Cabool, Nina Grose (Bill) Covington TN, Howard Luallen (Linda) of Cabool, Carol Harris (Walter) Seymour, MO, Edna Scowden (Don) Branson, MO and Charles Luallen (Jean),Cabool, MO; 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren ( including 3 sets of twin boys) and 7 great great grandchildren.
