Jane was born the oldest of identical twins on July 2, 1949, in Henderson to R.E. and Helen (Standard) Stephens. She was a 1967 graduate of Henderson High School. Jane went on to attend Stephen F. Austin University where she received her Bachelor’s and then her Master’s degrees. She was an educator for 5 years in Henderson, then 26 years in Kilgore, until her retirement. Teaching and being around her students was her ministry and passion. In 1971, after 2 years of dating, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Holland and they spent the next 45 years making many loving and happy memories together. Jane was a long time and faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lakeport. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, researching genealogy and music. Jane had a true love for the Word of God. She had completely read the Bible several times and even copied 5 books of the KJV Bible by hand. Her family, especially her grandchildren, were the source of her strength and joy. Spending time with them was when “Granny” was the happiest. Jane will be greatly missed by all whose lives she has touched.

Jane was met at the heavenly gates by her loving husband, Kenneth Holland, daughter, Dr. Jill Holland, M.D., her parents, R.E & Helen Stephens, her sister, Joy Bell, and special aunt, Grace Standard.
