Oostburg - Robert Raymond Shaul, 85, passed away Tuesday morning, December 8, 2020 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

Robert was born April 1, 1935 in Superior, WI to Raymond and Edith (nee Rubin) Shaul. He was a 1954 graduate of North Western High School in Maple,WI. He went on to serve his country in the United States Army, and was stationed in both Texas and Colorado. Bob studied education, earning his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from UW Superior.

On January 21, 1956, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth "Betty" Nelson in Superior. The couple were married 64 years before Betty preceded him in death earlier this year.

Bob taught in Bruce, WI before moving his young family to Oostburg in 1967. From 1967 to 1992, he served as a Principal within the Oostburg School District.

He was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg, as well as the Kiwanis Club. An entertainer at heart, Bob loved playing piano and will be remembered for his performances for the Kiwanis Club, Heritage Days, and Pine Haven residents. In his 40's, he got his pilot's license and flew for 10 years. He enjoyed golfing, calligraphy, history, shopping local garage sales, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandbabies.

Bob is survived by his six children: Beth (Nick) Trimberger of Oostburg; Lynn Williams of Oostburg; Brian (Deborah) Shaul of Springfield, IL; Jean (Eric) Meinen of Oostburg; Joan Scobba of Sheboygan; and Sara (Pete) Gahagan of Plymouth; grandchildren: Shaunna (Marc) Dyrcz, Tyler Trimberger (Shannon), Michael (Ana) Trimberger, Jayce (Margot) Trimberger, Justine Scobba, Nicole Trimberger, Carlos Garza, Rachel (Zach) Wensink, Natalie (Ray) Kolocek, Alex Garza, Nicholas Shaul (Aleta), and Julie Shaul; great grandchildren: Aurelia, Owen, Autumn, Thomas, Aurora, Benjamin, Norah and Andrew; siblings: Ruth (Robert) Manor, Edward (Pauline) Shaul, Sue Koehler, Charles Shaul and Elizabeth "Betty" (Alan) Nordrum; siblings-in-law: Charlotte Nelson, William (Jewell) Nelson, Alan (Kathy) Nelson and Jane Christie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his siblings: Mary (Jim) Benesch, Ralph (Leslie) Shaul and Ivan Shaul and siblings-in-law Dave Koehler, Gerald Christie and Tim (Nan) Nelson.

Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. A memorial fund is being established in his name for the Oostburg School District.
