Death again visited this vicinity on last Saturday morning, June 18th, and took one of our oldest residents, George Christian Thomas, more familiarly known as Crist Cannon, who was in this neighborhood, and a cripple, all his life, and was well thought of here. He was paralyzed about 10 weeks ago and was ill ever since. His funeral took place on Sunday afternoon at the Brookhill Church and interment was made at the adjoining cemetery. He was in his 74th year. He chose his own bearers before he died, who were: R.M. Neighbours, A.W. Burkhart, D.J. Young, J.E. Summers, C.V.C. Sanners and H.E. Staley. Charles J. Smith of Bloomfield, was funeral director and Rev. S.H. Hedges, of Middletown, officiated.
