Son of Ephraim Knowlton Hanks and Harriet Amelia Decker

Married Mary Elizabeth Heath, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah

Children - Otis M. Hanks, Frank Henry Hanks, Nellie Mae Hanks, Maude Ethel Hanks, Leland Page Hanks, Florence Claire Hanks

Death - Marcelles was the oldest child of Ephraim and Harriet Hanks. The day he came missing was a sad, unsolved mystery. On 28 October 1999, Estella Little Pehrson, of Magna, Utah, who is 77 years old, told to Teton Hanks Jackman:

"Cell and his family were living in Logan, Cache, Utah. He had gone across the river to buy some hay but never returned. The man said he didn't have any hay to sell so Cell drove back over the stream to go home. He heard Cell say whoa to his horse, a bit of scuffing and all was quiet. It was just dusk and the man could not see what happened. The horse and cart was found but no sign of Marcelles. He had money on him to purchase the hay so he was probably murdered and buried.

His wife, Mae, kept a light burning in her window for many nights, but he never came. They dragged the river and searched everywhere. His mother, Harriet, sold the property where the Walker Bank now stands, to get money to search for Cell.

The family would receive letters from people, saying for so much money, they could tell them where to find Cell. But his body was never found."
