Ex-postmaster dies at 72
Funeral for Gladys Nannette Pitner, 72, retired Valleyford postmaster, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Thronhill's in the Valley, with burial at the Valleyford Cemetery.
Mrs. Pitner died yesterday at a Spokane hospital.
Born March 2, 1909, Thermopolis, Wyo., she had resided in Valleyford 62 years. She was an elementary school teacher there 13 years and served as Valleyford postmaster 18 years.
Mrs. Pitner was a Methodist and a member of the Postmasters union.
She married Howard Pitner, Who survives at the Valleyford home, in 1938 in Coeur d'Alene.
Other survivors include two daughters, Jo Woodgeard, Long Beach, Wash., and Judy Schierman, Spokane Valley, and five grandchildren.
