Services will at 2 p.m. Friday in Morrison Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Orden Hartley, pastor of First Baptist Church in Felt, Okla., officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors with flag detail by American Legion Post No. 224 of Dumas.
Herman R. Casteel was born Dec. 21, 1920, in Earlsboro, Okla., to Arthur R. and Lillie Casteel. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942 to 1945. On June 10, 1950, he married Lillis "Boots" Wallace, who preceded him in death on Aug. 13, 2006. He was owner/operator of Casteel Drilling Co. from 1954 until his retirement in 1992. Herman was a former resident of Borger from 1950 to 1964. He had been a resident of Dumas since 1964 and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Camilli and husband George of Boise City, Okla.; a son, Ralph Casteel and wife Maria Louisa of Tijuana, Mexico; many grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren
The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105; or Memorial Hospice, 224 E. Second, Dumas, TX 79029.
