Obituary:
George H Floyd, SR, 52, an employee of Neal Tyler and Sons for the past 19 years, died yesterday morning at his home, 110 E 63rd St. A native of Jacksonville, Mr Floyd was an active member of the Main Street Methodist Church and was instrumental in organizing the Men's Bible Class at the church a number of years ago. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Willie D Floyd; a son, George H Floyd Jr; a daughter, Mrs. W. T. Murrer, and five grandchildren, all of Jacksonville; his father, W. L. Floyd, Scobey, Mississippi; two sisters, Mrs. O.L. Austin of Memphis, Tenn and Mrs. R. A. Blount of Dallas Tx. and a brother, W. A. Floyd of Jackson Miss.
Funeral services will be held at 4pm Thursday at Key-McCabe Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev John Louis Jones, pastor of Main Street Methodist Church and the Rev W. J. Churchwell of Murray Hill Methodist Church. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

NOTE from research. George H Floyd was born in Mississippi (Strongs, Mississippi is listed on his WW2 registration and Stranza is on his death certificate) and came to live in Jacksonville around 1915 or 1916 to live with his aunt Pearl Floyd Taylor.
The sister mentioned in the obit- Mrs R A Blount is Mattie Louise Floyd his cousin. They were raised together by Pearl FLOYD TAYLOR and her husband Archie Taylor.
The brother W A Floyd is Will Allen Floyd his half brother. They had different mothers.
daughter Mrs W T Murrer is Carolyn Floyd. His father W. L. FLOYD is William Lawson FLOYD born 1870 and died between 1955 and 1964 gravesite unknown.
