She was born on March 11, 1945, in Chandlerville, the daughter of Adrian "Duke" and Alene (Atterberry) Summers.
She was a graduate of Bath Balyki High School. She married her first husband, Richard Trowbridge, on November 16, 1962, and they later divorced. She then married Raymond Wilken on May 25, 1985, who preceded her in death on October 25, 1995.
Carole Ann was a member of the Chandlerville Christian Church. She loved to do crafts, sew and bake. She worked at her parent's saloon, Duke and Alenes, in Chandlerville for many years. She also worked at Sunny Acres Nursing Home, in Petersburg, as a CNA and Therapy Aide before retiring in April of 2013.
Carole Ann is survived by a daughter and a son, Patricia "Tricia" (husband, Phil) Ruppel and Frank (wife Darlene) Trowbridge; two granddaughters, Adrian (husband, J.R.) Bye and Kelli (husband Alex) Turner and four great-grandchildren, Alex Bye, Logan Bye, Nora Turner and Steele Turner.
Carole Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Allan Summers; as well as her first and second husband.
A private family service will be held at Litner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville with Pastor Brian Eilers officiating. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at 10:30 am at Chandlerville Cemetery in Chandlerville, Illinois.
