Mr. Edward Formby, 84, a lifelong resident of Corsicana, passed away on December 3, 2020. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

Edward was born on October 18, 1936, in Waxahachie, Texas, to the late Andrew Franklin and Mary Ruth (Woodring) Formby. He married Joanne Bassham in 1955. A hard-working man, he raised his family in Corsicana. In the early years of their marriage, he was a music leader at several churches and always sang in the choir. Edward served as Deacon at Northside Baptist Church, Sunday school teacher and served the church in various other positions with honesty and integrity.

Edward was a prankster who loved to tell jokes. He loved to be outdoors hunting and working on his ranch. He also enjoyed playing 42 in dominoes, fishing, and the occasional game of golf. Edward always put the most important things first in his life – his Lord, his marriage, and his family.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years, Joanne Formby; daughter, Donna Good and her husband, Mark, of Oklahoma City; sons, Jim Formby and his wife, Carol, of Fort Worth, and Tim Formby and his wife Kim, of Steuben, Maine; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Patty Knauth; brother, Bill Formby and his wife, Katrine; other relatives and many friends.
