Norma Jean Barnett passed from this life to heaven on December 4th 2020 at the age of 86. She was born to Lanniel and Lydia Brown on July 29, 1934.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, parents, husband Bill, and daughter Kathryn Thompson.

She is survived by her son Mark Barnett, his wife Josie and their two sons Matthew and Ethan.

Granddaughters Crystal Overmyer, and Lydia Foust and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

As well as many close relatives and friends.

She was born in Sterling, CO, but grew up in Hawthorne, NV where she attended school and met her husband of 57 years, who was a Marine stationed at the nearby base.

Norma was saved at an early age and lived the rest of her life serving the Lord. She was faithful, playing the piano or organ during services, and events in the churches she attended.

She was an accomplished artist who loved to paint and draw the most. Portraits were her favorite to do, and did many in oil on canvas and more than a few in pencil. She was also known for painting on anything that sat still too long. Such as crosscut saws, saw blades, mailboxes, doors, and many more. Family favorites of her art were her paintings of different critters on roundish rocks that her husband found along creek beds in Arkansas. She regularly won ribbons at the Ozarks Empire Fair for her work in multiple mediums.

Norma and her husband owned a real estate agency, numerous rental properties, and farmland throughout their career.

Due to the Covid19 pandemic there will not be a visitation, and graveside services is for family only.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Special Forces Ministries, 428 Harrison St, Nixa, MO 65714. Special Forces is a home for special needs adults. This ministry was very dear to her heart has her oldest grandson has special needs.
