Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 4, 2007 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mary Hill James, 77, who passed away Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Reverend Ira Robinson, Minister of Visitation at Asbury United Methodist Church will officiate the funeral services. Interment will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette.

Mrs. James, the daughter of the late Richardson "Bud" Pearson Hill and the former Martha Elizabeth Crowley, both of Texas, was a native of Texas and resident of Lafayette since 1957.

She was a member of the Shriners Auxilliary and she and her husband, Jimmie C. James owned and operated Central Equipment Company here in Lafayette.

Survivors include her daughters, Marilyn James Hebert and husband, Bradley of Lafayette, and Rachel James Walsh and husband, Daniel of Scott; son, Jimmie Marion James and wife, Susan of Scott; six grandchildren, Dione Brown, Hailey Hebert, Phillip James, Jimmie M. James, Jr., Jason James, and Jeanene James; one step-grandchild, Amanda Walsh; three great-grandchildren, Amber Brown, Logan James, and Jaycee James; sister, Lena Bass of Vernon, Texas; and brother, Henry Hill and wife, Anna of Henrietta, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richardson Pearson Hill and Martha Crowley Hill; husband, Jimmie C. James; and brother, Buddy Leon Hill.

Visiting hours will be observed on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and will continue on Thursday, October 4, 2007 from 8:00 am until the time of service.
