Ernest G. Bunce, 77 of 1018 Keeler Ave., Beloit, died Thursday, July 7, 1988 at Veterans Hospital in Madison.
A Beloit resident since 1957, he was born June 9, 1911 in Rockton, the son of Myron and Mary Anna Hubbard Bunce. He married Mae Wharry July 11, 1949 in Wisconson Dells, Wis.
He had been employed at Beloit Foundary Co. until his retiremnt in 1974. He had served 10 1/2 years in the United States Army and was a World War II veteran. He had been a missionary in Alaska for five years with the Assembly of God Church. He was a member, past commander and chaplain of American Legion Post #48, and also former county chaplain.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Leonard Bunce; one daughter, Linda (Mrs. Larry) Wargowsky; two grandsons, Jarard and Nicholas Wargowsky; all of Beloit; four brothers, William of Belvidere, Milton of Reedsburg, Penn., Robert of Cataula, Georgia, and Arthur of Fort Atkinson.
He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer Cranston Road Chapel with Pastor Nathan A. Eddy pastor of the Foursquare Gospel Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rockton Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Cranston Road Chapel. Military rites will be held.
