Paul attended school in Gravette, Ark., graduating in 1966. He joined the US Army in 1967 and served with the 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam for a year; he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal with "V" device for heroism, as well as a Purple Heart.
In 1969 he married his high school sweetheart, Lana Moberly, in Bentonville, Ark. Paul was a Christian and a yellow dog Democrat. He worked in car sales and liked his job so much that he rarely felt like he was working. He enjoyed playing cards and dominoes and meeting friends for coffee or breakfast. In his younger years he played golf and softball. He was a people person who never met a stranger. Within minutes of meeting someone, he knew their story. He was known for his sharp wit and snappy comebacks.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sue Woods*. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, children Choate of San Diego, Calif. and Sundee Hendren (Jeff), their children Drew and Paulee, all of Gravette, Ark., and siblings Charles and Gary of Rogers, Ark., and Ann Red of Centerton, Ark.
Visitation will be Thurs., Dec. 3, 2020, from 5-7 pm, and funeral services will be Fri., Dec. 4, 2020 at 1 pm, all at Bella Vista [Ark.] Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Richard Hart will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hiwasse, Ark.
