Ray Cargile, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020, at the age of 89. Mr. Cargile valiantly served his country in the Untied States Army during the Korean War where he served as a tank commander. He was a member of Baptist Tabernacle and retired from Kliklok Corporation after a dedicated 36 years as a welder. Mr. Cargile enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, traveling to the beach, and especially the mountains. He was a hard worker and an excellent father. Mr. Cargile was always putting others before himself. He even enjoyed cutting grass for his neighbors and soccer fields for the kids. Mr. Cargile was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Janie Estelle (Digby) Cargile.

Survivors include his loving wife, Ann Cargile; children and their spouses, Yvonne Cheshire, Dolores and Johnny Dodson, Stephanie Cargile, Yolanda Clark, Patrick Cargile, Mona Gates, Clint and Carrie Wilder, Heather Roberts and Duane, Rachael and Jamie Pitts; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; as well as numerous other loving family members.

A Graveside Service for Mr. Cargile will be held Thursday, December 3, 2020, 3:00 P.M., at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington. Friends may visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, prior to his service, from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.

CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public. Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services. In addition, gatherings are limited to 50 persons or less in our facility at one time. Please honor these restrictions for the safety of the family, yourself, and our staff.
