Paul Edward Black, Jr. entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 24th at age 74. He was born in Anderson, IN on September 4, 1946 to Paul and Vera (Riley) Black.
He served in the US Army from 1967-1968 during the Vietnam War. Before he came to IVH, Paul lived in Anderson, Indiana. He loved to talk about Anderson, Bill Gaither, Basketball, and most of all, Jesus Christ. Paul came to live at IVH in December 2019, and he enjoyed making acronyms, usually relating to encouraging people to keep hope and faith in God at the center of their lives.
Paul is survived by a daughter Karen and a brother, Tim. Paul will be remembered at the next IVH Memorial Service.
Arrangements are pending with Hippinsteel Funeral Home and a future burial with military honors at IVH Cemetery.

Paul Edward Black, Jr., 74, of West Lafayette passed away Nov. 25, 2020, at IU Health Hospital.
He was born Sept. 4, 1946, in Anderson, Indiana, to the late Paul E. Black Sr. and Vera Leona (Riley) Black. He was a 1964 graduate of Anderson High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy Reserves during the Vietnam War.
Paul was a Frozen Foods Manager for Pay Less in both Anderson and Lafayette. He was an avid sports fan specifically of baseball, basketball and football. His favorite teams were the Cincinnati Reds, Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers. He was also a big Indiana University Basketball fan. He enjoyed talking with his friends and classmates. Most of all, Paul loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are his daughter, Karen (Timothy) Fox of Indianapolis; mother of his child, Joan Bill; brother, Tim (Becky) Black of Pendleton and their sons Adam Black of New York and Jon Black of Anderson, and sister, Jan Ault of Edgewood; and his two beloved grandchildren, Matthew Benjamin Fox and Michelle Renee Fox, both of Indianapolis.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
