He was the brother of the late Elizabeth Ann Dute Cody, Jon "Jack" Cornwell Dute (aka Jack Dooley) and the infant William Lynn Dute.
He was a graduate of St. John's Military Academy in Delafield, Wisconsin in 1959. He credited his excellent organizational skills as being learned at St. John's.
He was a graduate of the Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio in 1963. While he was at Bowling Green he met Forrest Orebaugh, who was the dynamic recruiter of teachers for the Cincinnati Public Schools. Allan was so impressed with Dr. Orebaugh's skills, he came to the Cincinnati Public Schools and worked there until he retired.
He was the husband of Jennifer R. Perry Plyler Dute. They were married on May 14, 1998.
He was the father of three sons, Christopher Allan Dute, Conner Perry Dute and Cody Glenn Dute.
For many years he was a counselor at Walnut Hills high school in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition, he was a very successful businessman in the rental real estate and construction fields in Hamilton County, Ohio. He was a person of contrasts.
Although the funeral home stated his cremains were buried in the Mt. Washington cemetery in Cincinnati, the cemetery stated he is not buried there.
