John Watkins Dies In Wichita Falls
John Calvin Watkins, 83, passed away Monday, January 5, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Born on March 26, 1892 in Burnet, Texas, he was a retired Production Foreman for an independent Oil Industry. He had lived in Electra since 1928 and was a member of the First Baptist Church and Electra KFP Lodge.
Services were held on Wednesday,January 7, at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Electra with Miles Miears officiating.
Internment was held in the New Electra Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Mack C.Watkins of Hobbs, New Mexico, one brother, Vernon Watkins of Austin; two sisters, Mrs. Fonzie Brewster of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Mrs. Josephine Chambliss of Denver City, Texas and four grandchildren.
