LeRoy was born on March 7, 1927 in Fern, Iowa to the late Louis Aswegan and Olga (Piper) Aswegan. He owned his own farm, retiring in 1989. LeRoy, along with his late wife Joan loved to fish and caught many species throughout their travels.
Left to cherish his memory is his brother Floyd Aswegan, Marshalltown, IA; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Joe and Ronnie Wilhelmy of Beverly Hills; their children, Ann (Roger) Stawski, MN and Tim (Kendra) Wilhelmy, FL; special grandchildren Jack, Taylor and Matthew.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ellen Joan Aswegan on May 6, 2013, brothers Albert (Pearl) and Glen (Neta) and sister-in-law Hilda.
A joint Celebration of Life Memorial Service with his late wife Ellen Joan Aswegan will be held at First Congregational Church in Eldora, IA with Rev. Cory Larson officiating, on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 1:30 PM. A light lunch will be served following the service in the fellowship hall. Memorial donations in LeRoy's memory may be made to Hospice of Citrus Coiunty, Florida or the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is in charge of local arrangements.
