Jackie D. "Jack" Pettigrew, 85, Lapel, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, at Harbour Manor in Noblesville following an extended illness.
He was born on June 9, 1935, in Anderson to Robert F. Pettigrew and Ruth (Gustin) Pettigrew.
Jack graduated from Lapel High School in 1955.
He retired in 1996 from Guide Lamp, Division of General Motors.
Jack was a member of the Fishersburg Wesleyan Church. Jack enjoyed being with family and friends. Jack enjoyed making everyone laugh that he came in contact with.
Jack and Mona were high school sweethearts.
He is survived by his wife, Mona (Horton) Pettigrew of 62 years; children, Bruce (Chris) Pettigrew of Colorado, Vicki (Tom) Johnson of Kentucky, and Darrell (Lydia) Pettigrew of Oldenburg; brothers, Max Pettigrew of Carmel, Mike Baldwin of Florida; sister, Janet Arline of Anderson; grandchildren, Abby (Joe) Henseler, Kristin (Jon) Richardson, and Kaitlin Pettigrew; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Theo. Jack was also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special sister-in-law, Marilyn Barker and Steve.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob, Farrell, Jim, Neal, Gilbert, and Roy; and his sister, Shirley.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main St., Lapel, with the Rev. Duane Summitt officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Due to government regulation's masks and social distancing will be maintained.
