Ethel Mae Reddoch Prescott, 90, of Gaskin passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. She was born Oct. 2, 1916, in Hacoda, AL. the daughter of James Washington Reddoch and Donnie Estelle Merchant Reddoch. She loved watching "Wheel of Fortune" and liked word search, always keeping her mind active. Her grandchildren were the love of her life, but her great-grandchildren were most special to her.
She gave each of grandchildren and great-grandchildren affectionate names that they will carry with them the rest of their lives.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Huron Prescott, and a brother, Louie Reddoch.
Prescott was a member of Gaskin Baptist Church.
Among survivors are two daughters, Helen Bartlett and husband, Jimmie, of Grant, AL., Ellen Beck and husband, Willard, of Gaskin; sisters, Estelle Beck and husband,Burl, of Gaskin and Maudie Simpler of Pensacola; grandsons, Gregory Charles "Boots" Bartlett, and wife, Pamela, Jason Willard "Short Stop" Beck and wife, Tammy, granddaughters, Tonia Leigh "Fluffy" Porter and husband, James; Chanda Lenore "Guinne Pig" Walker and husband, Dale, Amanda Ellen "Sweet Pea" Varnum and husband, Scott; 14 great-grandchildren, Hunter "Hunter Bear", Sidney "Pollywog", Grayson "Morning Glory", Jaden "Smilin Jack", Ansley "Buttercup", Maddy "Butterfly", Alex "Blue Bird", Sadie "Lady Bug", Taylor "Little Boy Blue", Drew "Little Boy Blue II", Rayleigh "My Little Blondie", Cassie "Little Red", Tyce "Little T", and Hydie "Mocking Bird".
Pallbearers were Gregory Bartlett, Jason Beck, Scott Varnum, James Porter, Bobby Collingsworth, Odell Beck, and Ray Beck.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, in Gaskin Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry Sweat officiating.
Burial followed in Gaskin Cemetery. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Jerry Evans.
