BRIDGEPORT, W. VA. - Tad Alonso, 63, of Fairmont, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 19, 2020.
He was born on July 6, 1957, in Clarksburg, a son of the late James Alonso and Wilma Louise Pope Alonso.
He is survived by his three daughters, Jordan Alonso, Jessica Duling and her husband, Matt and Jenny Gillespie and her husband, Josh; brothers, and sisters, JP Alonso and his wife,Mary Ann, Janie Jenkins and her husband, Ronald, Greg Alonso and his wife, Montica and Kim Floyd and her husband, Brian; grandchildren, Eli and Lex Duling and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tad grew up in North View and was a graduate of Victory High School/Liberty High School and attended Fairmont State College. He was the owner and president of Targa Development, Inc. He was an avid supporter and volunteer of the Special Olympics, where he served on the Board of Directors. He helped countless people and organizations anonymously. He was loving, caring and full of warmth and laughter. He gave the best hugs. He helped everyone he possibly could and gave all that he could give. He loved his family and his dogs, snow skiing and his camp at Tygart Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be made to Special Olympics WV, 3055 Mt. Vernon Road, Hurricane, WV 25526.
A celebration of life service for Tad will be announced at a later date. However, if you would like, you can stop by Copper House Grill, 1155 Airport Road, Pleasant Valley, on Saturday, November 28, 2020, from 2 – 5 p.m. to share stories about Tad.
