Buford Coke, Sr., 64, died Monday, December 4, 1995, at the Albany Memorial Hospital, Albany. A native of Anderson County, he was the son of Allie Bell Chilton Coke and the late William Thomas Coke. He was a graduate of Kavanaugh High School, retired from General Electric Co. after 33 years and was a an army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include: two sons, Buford Lee Coke, Jr., and Jeff Coke, both of Louisville; his mother, Mrs. Allie Bell Chilton Coke, Harrodsburg; four brothers, Fred Coke, Lawrenceburg, Thomas Coke, Frankfort, Bruce Coke, Sulphur, and Paul Coke, Taylorsville; three sisters, Mrs. G. H. (Jeanette) Carey, and Mrs. Minnie Morgan, both of Lawrenceburg, and Mrs. Lewis (Nancy) Long, Lancaster; four grandchildren. Services for Mr. Coke were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 6 at the Gash Memorial Chapel, Lawrenceburg, with Bro. Joe White officiating. Burial was in Hebron Cemetery with military rites.
