Died, at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon, Sept. 1, 1916, at his residence, one-half mile west of Breckenridge, James J. Waters, aged 57 years, 4 months and 28 days.
Mr. Waters was born in Sangamon county April 3, 1859, near Springfield, and had resided in this county all his life.
He was a prominent farmer and land owner in Cooper township, being instrumental in the building of elevators at Berry and Breckenridge, and was president of the company operating them for several years.
He was married Feb. 15, 1887, at Auburn, to Miss Mary Howard, who survives him.
Also surviving him are three sons, John, James, and Michael Waters, living at home, and four daughters, Mrs. W. L. Greene and Mrs. Leslie F. Jones of Rochester and Alice and Anna Waters, living at home; and one grandchild, Maurice Greene.
