At His Home In This City Yesterday At Noon - Funeral Arrangements Later.
Mr. John G. Andrews, aged 79 years, died suddenly at his home in this city yesterday about noon. He became ill Monday night, but his condition was not considered serious, and his death came as a great shock to loved ones and friends.
Mr. Andrews had been a resident of LaFayette for forty-five years. He was always interested in his church and in civic affairs. He was not only a model Christian, but an honorable gentleman in the highest sense that term applies, and all who knew him realize that a good and righteous man has been taken from our midst.
The deceased is survived by five children: Miss Lula Andrews, University, Va.; Rev. Henry M. Andrews, Wetumpka, Ala.; Miss Mamie Andrews, LaFayette; Miss Pearl M. Andrews, East Radford, Va.; Mrs. A. Z. Cumbee, Fredonia; four brothers - Walter Andrews, New York City; G. D. Andrews, Chattanooga, Tenn.; W. A. Andrews, Opelika; E. L. Andrews, Camp Hill and one sister, Mrs. Emma Phillips, of Texas.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church, Thursday morning at 10 o'clock.
