Johnnie W. Rhoades, 68, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in First Assembly of God with the Rev. Damon Akins, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens.

Johnnie was born July 17, 1939, in Holdenville, Okla., to T.H. "Pokey" and Martha Rhoades. On March 28, 1987, he married Pauletta McAlister Sullins. He retired in September 1997 from Natural Gas Pipeline after 36 years of service. He transported cars for local car dealerships for 10 years.

Johnnie had been a resident of Dumas for more than 30 years and was a member of First Assembly of God. Johnnie was a loving husband, father and Papa. He enjoyed golf and fishing, but most of all, his kids and grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Wayne Rhoades.

Survivors include his wife, Pauletta; three daughters, Pam Farni and husband Danny and Vickie Holt and husband Gary, all of Dumas, and Sharlet Muskrat and husband Terry of Porum, Okla.; two sons, Rowdy Rhoades and wife Cindy and Joel Sullins and wife Denae, all of Dumas; two brothers, Jimmie Rhoades and wife Joyce of Woodward, Okla., and Sandy Rhoades of Dumas; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet, Dexter.

The family suggests memorials be to First Assembly of God, P.O. Box 764, Dumas, TX 79029.
