Ronald Glen Swartwout
June 7, 1933 – November 19, 2020

Ronald G. Swartwout, age 87 of Greenville, Ohio passed away peacefully at 5:54 AM on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the Brethren’s Retirement Community. Born in Royal Oak, Michigan on June 7, 1933 he was the only child to the late Norman & Fern (Campbell) Swartwout. He was a Greenville High School graduate, and played tuba in the marching band. He met the love of his life, Betty, who also played tuba in the band, and they got married on July 4, 1957. Ronald was a proud United States Army veteran, and had served overseas in Germany in the signal corp. He then went on to work at Ohio Bell / GTE and after 35 years, he retired. He enjoyed woodworking and fixing things, loved horses and animals, and taking care of his wife and his family. He will be truly missed. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty M. (Birt) Swartwout in 2015: and daughter Barbara Ann Peeples in 2016.

Survived by his children Randall Lee Swartwout (Debra); Beverly Pierce: 12 grandchildren: 8 great-grandchildren: as well as many friends made throughout the years.

Services for Ronald are to be private. Burial at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville, Ohio. Memorial donations may be made the Brethren’s Home resident activity fund. Arrangements entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. www.zecharbailey.com.
