Beatrice Dobbin died at the Hillcrest Nursing Home on October 16, 1949. She had been ill for more than a year. Prior to suffering a stroke, Mrs. Dobbin had been society editor and copy reader for the Baltimore News-Post, where she had worked for about 20 years.
She was survived be a son George Dobbin Jr; and daughters Mrs William Gilmor Hoffman, Mrs Norman Proctor Smith, Mrs Charles Carroll Jr and Mrs John A.B. Fisher. Her husband, Dr George Dobbin died in 1928.
