Born in Adger, Alabama, he was the son of Richard Henry Waldon (1898-1943) of Alabama and Margaret "Maggie" Hardyman Waldon (1888-1933).
He was a retired coal miner who worked for Drummond Co., a veteran of World War II, and a member of U.M.W.A.
Loyd is survived by his loving wife, Jessie Waldon; his sons, David (Edith) Waldon and Michael James (Jeni) Burchfield; his grandchildren, Brandon Waldon, Sherry (Todd) Waldon, and Stephanie (Kris) Strope; five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Graveside service will be Monday,
November 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Bro. Jeremy Beck will be officiating the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grant Street Baptist Church.
