Ripley, MS - Hugh Clayton Bass, 78, passed away at his home in Ripley. He was born on February 16, 1942, to Roy and Jessie Proctor Bass in Walnut, Mississippi. Clayton was a truck driver for Excavators, Inc. and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 21, 2020, in McBride Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Timmy Bass officiating. Burial will follow in Jacobs Chapel Cemetery.
With Military Honors.
Visitation will be Friday, November 20, 2020, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at McBride Funeral Home.
Mr. Bass is survived by one daughter, Iva Bass Barkley (Steven) and one son, William Clay Bass (Dale), both of Ripley; three grandsons, Justin Barkley (Chasity); Casey Barkley (Addie), Colton Bass; four step-grandsons, Brad McClain, B.J. McClain (Nikki), Brent McClain, Austin McClain; four great-grandchildren, Abby, Hunter, Chloe, and Karley McClain.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Vanstory Bass; his parents; four brothers, Gerald, Larry, Carey, and Gene Bass.
