Chester White Campbell was the third son and the ninth child of Merriman Lewis Campbell (1837-1919) and his wife, Martha Ann Sarver Campbell (1838-1907). His birth was recorded in Boone County for 13 June 1877, otherwise his homes were located on the Lincoln and Logan County border.

Chester married Bessie F Barker, daughter of Leftridge Albert Barker and his wife Elizabeth Ferrell Barker who lived at Big Creek, Logan County on the Lincoln County border. Chester, Bessie and Bessie's son,Orville made their home in the Big Creek community as well.

Chester served in the United States Army during World War I. At the time of his death in 1948, Chester lived with his wife, Bessie, on their farm at Big Creek. Chester was 72 years, 5 months, and 8 days old when he died at home.
