George Franklin Boraker, 104, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Saturday, March 9th, 2019 peacefully, at his residence.

George was born in Crawfordsville, IN on September 2, 1914, a son of the late Bertha May (VanCleave) and Frank Hutchings Boraker.

He was the widower of Laura Barbara (Berkley) Boraker. they were married January 14, 1940 in Raton, NM.

He retired from the City of Rocky Ford in 1979 after 33 years of service. George was a volunteer fireman for Rocky Ford for 25 years.

He is survived by:

Daughter Evelyn Sumner, of Little Elm, TX;

Son Raymond Boraker, of Denver, CO;

Daughter Barbara Boraker, of Rocky Ford, CO;

Step Daughter Brinna Rector, of Sterling, CO;

Step Son Corey Rector, of La Junta, CO.

He is also survived by Grandchildren: Sheri Van Meter, Glen (Jamey) Van Meter, Joyce (Michael) Bessinger, Charlene (Jeff) Brown, Jason (Kim) Sumner, Jeanna Sumner. Great-Grandchildren: Kennedy Van Meter, Casey (Brandon) Knox, Alexandria Sumner, Jessica Sumner, Gabriella Dantoni, Francesca Dantoni. Great-Great-Grandchildren: Calen Knox, Thalia Knox & Elsie Brown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Laura; Son: David Boraker: 2 brothers; Walter and Herman (Norene) Boraker; a sister: Ethel (Charlie) Edgar

Graveside Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 13th at Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO with Pastor John Dell officiating. Inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
