Albert married Nellie Anne Campbell (1880-1961) at Mudd River, Lincoln County in 1897. Their first child, Lillian Nony Estep was born 24 May 1898 after they moved to Stinston, Lincoln County. 26 August 1900, a second daughter was born at Stinston named Madgie Dayton Estep. By the time their first son was born 16 December 1905, Franklin George Estep, they had moved to their farm at Big Creek in Logan County. Four daughters were born Elah Gladdess (Gladys) Estep, born in 1909; Shelly Vorise Estep, born in 1910; Mary Martha Estep, born in 1913 and Myrtle Dean Estep, born in 1915. Albert was a farmer but also occasionally worked in one of the coal mines nearby for additional income. By 1930, he was a full time truck farmer taking his produce to sell in nearby communities and stores. This remained the family's primary source of income until late December 1956 / early January 1957 when Albert suffered a stroke (cerebral hemorrhage). He recovered but had a second stroke 22 March 1957, and died that day at home. He was buried 24 March 1957 at the small family cemetery located half-way up the hill behind their home. His wife of sixty years, Nellie, joined him there in 1961.
