Gary Gene Goforth, 78, passed away November 16, 2020 in Electra, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the New Electra Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Friday, November 20, 2020 at the funeral home.
Gary was born April 15, 1942 to Clyde Carl and Juanita (Burkhalter) Goforth. He married Georgia Hodgkins on January 16, 1962 in Electra, Texas. Gary worked in the oil fields, as a truck driver, and for the State Hospital. He was a veteran, serving in the US Army. Gary enjoyed fishing, shooting, and gardening.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ted Goforth; sister, Joyce Nelson; and one grandson, Joshua Crenshaw.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Georgia Goforth of Electra, Texas; son, Terry Goforth and wife, Debbie of Electra; daughter, Sherri Myers and husband, Leonard of Paradise, Texas; daughter, Barbara Keene and husband, Scott of Electra; son, Brad Goforth of Chickasha, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
