George Thomas Biffle, 83, of 2015 19th Ave., S., a retired postal employee and hotel manager, died yesterday at his home.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Roesch Patton and Cosmopolitan Funeral Home, with the Rev. Franklin Paschall officiating.

Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

A native of Williamson County, he was a son of the late Irene Burnett and Walter Craig Biffle Sr. He grew up in Triune, Tenn. where he was graduated from Triune High School. He also attended Battle Ground Academy and Draughon's Business College.

Biffle was superintendent of mails for many years in the Nashville post office. He also served for a few years as assistant manager of the old Andrew Jackson Hotel and later as manager of the Allen Hotel.

He was instrumental in building the Hillsboro Church of Christ.

Biffle was active in postal employees' organizations and was a member of the National Federation of Retired Federation Employees and the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Anna Clark Biffle; three daughters, Mrs. Nina B. McGrath, Mrs. Ruth Parrish and Mrs. Anita Fielder, Nashville; a son, Charley C. Grigg, Ashland City, Tenn.; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Moore, Mrs. Irene Rowell and Mrs. Saidee Fields, Nashville, 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
