Adeline ("Addie" or "Pick") E. Miller, 93, Logansport, went tp join her Maker at 11:55 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, in Monticello Healthcare and Assisted Living Center. She was surrounded by her family and friends throughout the vigil while she slept comfortably. She left behind the body that could not see and the limbs that did not work anymore to take on that perfect body waiting for her above.

Born May 7, 1914, on a farm outside of Rochester, Indiana, she was the daughter of Austin and Pearl Neher Brubaker. When she was six years old, the family moved to Noble Township in Cass County, where she went to school in a one-room schoolhouse known as "West Sand Ridge School." It was located on the north end of her father's farm, located on the old Royal Center Pike. She graduated from Royal Center Regional High School.

In 1932, she married E.R. "Bus" Grauel. They divorced in 1940. The couple had three children together. On March 23, 1946, in Logansport, she married Clifford M. "Butch" Miller, who preceded her in death November 12, 1970. They had three children together.

Addie worked as a driver for the Jewel T home delivery for some time, before going to work in the office of the Goodyear store at the corner of 6th and Broadway. She had also worked for the Joe Herd Insurance Agency. In 1980, she retired from the Logansport Community School Corporation, where she had worked in the financial office at the administration building for many years.

A member of the Main Street United Methodist Church for over 60 years, Addie had served as a Sunday School teacher for ten years and on the church administrative board for twenty years.

Addie was a Gray Lady at Memorial Hospital for 32 years. She had also worked for the Lord's Cupboard ministry at the Salvation Army for 30 years. In addition, she had worked for the Republican Party for 10 years as well as the American Heart Association.

Surviving are two sons Richard Grauel (wife Marge) West Lafayette, and Stephen Grauel (wife Sondra) Ardmore, OK; four daughters, Rita Kuester (husband Robert) Richville, MN, Nikki Corso (husband Ron) Monticello, Toni Westerhouse (husband Richard) Buffalo, and Judi Conn (husband Brad)Winamac; one sister Reatha "Kitty" Lesher, Royal Center; twenty-six grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
