Daughter of Richard Clayton (1626-1677) and his first wife, Margaret ____ Clayton (d.1661). See “A Study of The Claytons of Monmouth County, New Jersey” which spells out the Cleaton/Clayton migration to America from England and their association with George Fox, 1624-1691, the founder of the Society of Friends at Swarthmoor Hall, near Aldingham Parish, Gleaston, Lancashire, England. Richard Clayton was a brother of Anne Clayton Easton Bull.

Children: Mary Borden, Matthew Borden Jr, Joseph Borden, Sarah Borden Hodgson, Ann Borden Slocum, Thomas Borden, Richard Borden, Abraham Borden, John Borden, and Benjamin Borden.
