Marjorie was born Feb. 25, 1923, in Ellston, Iowa, a daughter of Parks M. and Grace L. Thompson Ellison. She married Harold Edward Adkisson on May 25, 1940, in Grant City, Mo. He passed away on Dec. 15, 2008.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth R. (Dorothy) Adkisson, Downs, and Gary D. (Donna) Adkisson, Downs; daughter, Judy Adkisson, Springfield; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Cecil Ellison, Nolanville, Texas; and sister, Merle South, Winterset, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; two brothers; son, Edward L. Adkisson; grandson, Bradley Adkisson; granddaughter, Cindy Kaufman; and daughter-in-law, Norma Jean Adkisson.
Marjorie loved to sew. She was a seamstress for many years in the Bloomington area. In her free time, she would sew her grandchildren outfits, and each one received a quilt.
The family would like to give a special thank you to OSF Hospice and McLean County Nursing Home for their care and devotion to Marjorie.
