Mildred Ashmore Willingham, 93, of Dallas, GA died Thursday, November 12, 2020 in Haralson Nursing & Rehab, Bremen, GA.

She was born in Mt. Zion, GA on November 15, 1926, the daughter of the late Roy Parks Ashmore and the late Beulah Bell Ashmore. She attended Mt. Zion High School where she was a star basketball player and after graduation she entered college and earned her BA Degree. She lived in Alabama for a number off years and worked for more than twenty years with the Elmore County Health Department. In 1990 she and her husband returned to the Carroll and Paulding County area. She enjoyed doing the word search puzzles, was an avid reader and took great pleasure in sewing beautiful things for her daughter. She also dearly loved the Braves and almost never missed watching their games. There was a ball player on another team that she was not very fond of and her son-in-law told her that the Braves were going to hire him. She pitched a fit and told him that if they did hire him he would ruin the team that she loved so much - of course he was only wanting to get her started as she was quite "cute" when she got upset. She had been a faithful member of the Villa Rica First Baptist Church for a number of years and was active as long as her health permitted. She lived a very full and happy life and leaves behind many beautiful memories that will be cherished by her family and her many friends for many years to come.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev, Grady R, Willingham; a sister, Opal A. Harrison and two brother, Hoyt K. Ashmore and Norman H. Ashmore.

Survivors include her daughter Gradyne Ferguson and her husband, Ben, off Dallas, GA; two grandchildren, Cassie Ferguson Martin and her husband, Michael, of Boston, Massachusetts and Adam Ferguson of Alexandria, Virginia; her special great granddaughter, Nora Pepper Martin of Boston; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 2:30 P.M. from the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Mt. Zion, GA with the Rev. Jeff Powell officiating. Anyone wishing to attend this service are asked to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions in her memory be made to the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica, 1483 West Highway 78, Villa Rica, GA 30180.
