Marie Helsley, 89, of Ranson passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Nella’s Nursing Home, in Elkins.

She was born on March 3, 1931, in Jefferson County.

She was the daughter of the late George William Helsley and Della May (Stickles) Helsley.

Marie had worked for the Elizabeth Grove Farm as a Farmer and also worked for the Randolph Huyett Farm. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 1028, Charles Town.

She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Cooper; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Costello, Lois Mahoney and Della G. Ashby; brothers, Charles W. Helsley, Carson R. Helsley and Bedford Helsley.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020 at the Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town with Dr. Henry Christie officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Citizens Fire Company, PO Box 927, Charles Town, WV 25414. Arrangements are by the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. Please wear face masks and practice social distancing due to Covid-19.
