Mary Nancy “Baba” (Williams) Cole, 73, of San Diego, California formerly of Harrah, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020.

She was born May 2, 1947 to Melvin John and Esther Sylvia (Walton) Williams in Harrah, Oklahoma.

Mary was raised in Harrah and attended Harrah Public Schools.

She married Kenneth Ralph Cole on Oct 20th, 1984 in San Diego.

Mary worked as a Tech 2 weigher/packager for CalBioChem in San Diego, California for 20 years.

Mary enjoyed nature, animals, going to the zoo, having dogs, and being outside. She started her family camping when her daughters were very young and continued to camp with her youngest daughter Nimrodel (Nimmie) as she grew older.

Mary was an avid gardener and until recently she would always keep a vegetable garden, filled with tomatoes, onions, green beans, and zucchini. She would grow so much in her gardens that she often canned up her veggies for use all year long! Mary also loved to sew and made all the clothes for both her daughters Genny and Nimmie as they grew up.

Mary loved God and although she didn’t attend church regularly as she grew older, she did attend occasionally with her brother Billy, niece Anita, and her daughter Nimmie. She was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints in San Diego for a few years in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

Mary was generous and loving, and she did all she could for her family. She made a point of regularly visiting her brothers, their families and her grandchildren until health declined.

In the early ‘80s, Mary met Kenneth Cole through a mutual friend, and they were married in 1984. They remained devoted to one another until her passing.

She was known as “Baba” to youngest grand-children, Kyle and MacKenzie. Kyle began calling her Baba when he was 12-14 months old, and Nimmie’s family called her Baba ever since.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Melvin John Williams and Esther Sylvia (Walton) Williams, her sister Bertie Lou Williams, and her brothers Jimmy Melvin Williams and Johnny Lee Williams.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Kenneth Ralph Cole in San Diego, CA; brothers Billy Emmett Williams in MidWest City, OK, and Vernon Eugene Williams of Anaheim, CA; daughters Nimrodel Monica Adams of Apopka, FL, and Genny May Schlepp of El Cajon, CA; Grandchildren Kyle Alexander Adams, MacKenzie Rose Adams, Duane Brown DenHartog, Jeffery Adam Brown; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins!

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Black Cemetery in Pink, Oklahoma under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
