On the evening of September 27, 2007, the light of our life went out as a new light entered eternity. Born April 8, 1929 to Burton Ray and Lelia Mae Sherman Ashworth of Malta, Idaho. Married Fay Thompson and has two daughters, Ronnie (Al) Curtis and Cheryl Wentzel. Later divorced, married Doris Erickson Smith September 25, 1965, marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Active in the LDS Church and Temple worker. Beloved by his family and many friends. Survived by his wife, Doris; daughter, Ronnie; two step-sons, Craig (Mary) Smith and Bruce (Kathy) Smith; grandchildren, Angie, Alissa, Aandrea and Richard; seven great-grandchildren, Colby, Toni, Riley, Karli, Chance, Gage and Ashlyn; sister, Joyce Meeks, Texas. Awaiting his arrival was his parents; daughter, Cheryl; four brothers; and two sisters.


Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at the Jordan Oaks 3rd Ward, 8035 So. Leslie Dr. (3905 W.). Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 So. 2200 W., and Tuesday 1 hour prior at the church.
Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
