Aleta Louise Morris – August 20, 1946 to November 6, 2020; Aleta was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Lyle L. Youells and Marie J. (Rittenhouse) Youells. She had one sister, Patricia (Patti), who died from a snake bite at age 4 in 1953. Her father was stationed at Carswell Air Force Base and retired in 1952. Aleta lived in Texas until 1956 when the family moved to Florida. She attended college at Central Florida from 1964 to 1966. She moved to Detroit in 1968 where she started working as a temp at Kelly Services in Troy. She became a permanent employee in January, 1969. Aleta held many positions receiving several promotions. Her last position was an Executive Compensation Analyst. She retired in November, 2014 after 45 years of service. She attended Oakland University during the years 1976-1981. She married Alex Morris in 1982 and they lived in Pontiac until he died in 1995. Aleta remained in their house until her death. Aleta had many interests. She was an excellent knitter and crocheter and was a member of our Prayer Shawl Ministry at church. She also was a member of our Bell Choir. She enjoyed painting and was fascinated by flowers and loved trying to make her reproductions as life-like as possible. She was an avid reader and was interested in a variety of subjects. She had recently adopted a cat, Gypsy, who provided her with many hours of comfort. Aleta leaves behind many friends who will miss her positive attitude and gentle ways. A Memorial Service celebrating Aleta's life will be held at a later date. Aleta asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Andrews' Episcopal Church, 5301 Hatchery Road, Waterford, 48329 or to an Animal Shelter of your preference.
